Around 60% of UK adults experience anxiety that interferes with daily life on a regular basis. 30% feel that they are unable to cope with their anxious feelings (www.mentalhealth.org.uk) Everyone experiences anxiety, and not all anxiety is bad. In fact, anxiety is normal, healthy and quite often, helpful! However, in high doses it can make life difficult. Anxiety can present in a range of different ways. It can be caused by a range of factors and life experiences. It affects everyone differently which is why our sessions are entirely bespoke to you. Anxiety can be like the weather, it can come and go and be unpredictable. Therefore, for these reasons, it is important to have a range of strategies and skills in order to be able to manage anxiety and learn to become less anxious. We will work together to identify the core elements of your anxiety and develop practical skills and strategies to support you. Using a range of CBT and hypnotherapy techniques it is possible to see notable change within a minimum of 4 or 6 sessions. From £270

It can be near impossible to function when under stress. Modern life is full of stress. Many of us are struggling to hold down a job, look after dependents, manage a household and also trying to strike some kind of balance for me time! Managing stress is important in order to avoid stress related illnesses. Physical illnesses associate with stress are: high blood pressure, chest pains, headaches, skin reactions, dizziness, feeling sick etc. Emotional illnesses associated with stress are: feeling angry, irritable, anxious, worried, hopeless, scared etc. During these sessions we will identify the key triggers for the stress in your life and examine the impact they are having on your life. Each session is tailored to your specific needs. Over the course of 4 or 6 sessions you will develop techniques, skills and strategies that you can use straight away to manage stress and move forward with your life. If you are finding yourself experiencing any of the following, this may be a useful programme for you: ● trouble switching off after work ● feeling physically tense ● feelings of anxiety or worry before, during or after work ● trouble sleeping at night ● feeling exhausted throughout the day ● constant worry about work ● deciding to forego time with friends or family due to a need to work ● difficulties in lowering the heart rate ● feeling snappy or short with loved ones ● sometimes feeling tearful when thinking about work This programme will give you the opportunity to think about you and only you. If you never or rarely take time to yourself to relax, this could be what you have been needing. This is different to exercising your body, this programme is more like yoga for the mind. This programme works best for people who are open to new ideas and keen to learn new ways of dealing with work related stress. Choose a one off session (plus full assessment) or develop your skills more fully through a course of 4 or 6 sessions to thoroughly embed your new skills. We all experience a lack of confidence at times in our life. However, if low self-esteem is becoming an issue, or may have been a problem for a while, it can start to have a negative impact on your mental health and your day to day living. Low confidence and low self-esteem means that we feel negatively about ourselves and sometimes our lives. As a result, our resilience is low and we may feel unable to take on all the stresses and challenges that life throws at us. Often low self confidence and low self esteem comes via messages either from ourselves or others, that we are not good enough or are unable to live up to imposed expectations. If your negative beliefs are causing you hide away from social situations or stopping your from trying new things or challenging yourself, this could be what you need. Over the course of 6 sessions you will learn, practise and develop long lasting skills and techniques to overcome the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are holding you back. From £405

Fears and phobias are related but distinct experiences. Fear is a natural and adaptive response to a real or perceived threat, helping to keep us safe by triggering a "fight or flight" response. Common fears include; fear of heights, fear of spiders, fear of public speaking, fear of confined spaces, fear of flying. Phobias are intense, irrational fears of specific objects or situations that lead to avoidance and significant distress. Phobias can interfere with daily life and are considered anxiety disorders. People who have specific phobias may experience anxiety, panic attacks, and avoidance behaviours when they encounter some of those listed above or even just think about them. Phobias do not seem to have a single cause, but there are a number of associated factors. During our sessions, we identify the key factors that are causing you to be fearful considering particular triggers and maintaining behaviours. Please note, I do not practice regressive hypnotherapy which means I will not be using hypnotherapy linked to your childhood experiences. From £270

Research has shown that around 20% of menopausal women consider leaving work or reducing their hours due to symptoms such as fatigue, memory problems and anxiety. These sessions are designed to support women who may feel the menopause is affecting their daily life. Every woman experiences perimenopause and menopause differently. This is why over the course of 6 sessions we work together to discuss and identify the areas which are causing you the most concerns. After the first assessment session, a bespoke set of sessions are compiled to support you and your journey. An example of the sessions may include how to manage: hot flashes rage and anger brain fog sleep issues anxiety, worry and overwhelm These sessions are designed to work for women both using HRT and those that do not. I am not a doctor and I do not give advice about medication choices. From £405

Having worked in education for almost 25 years, I am able to offer a unique range of packages that are tailored to your issues. If you work in education, you may be able to use your organisations Educational Assistance Programme to claim back for these sessions as I am registered on the General Hypnotherapy Register. I am currently carrying out further training specifically for children and teens. Whilst I am qualified to work with this group, I feel young people need more specific intervention.
